AG Dressage is a new equine service based in the East Midlands available for all horse owners wishing to further their own horses education on the flat and over fences. Our primary concern is for all horses in training to become physically stronger through correct muscle development and also to be happy and confident through the use of clear and simple training techniques. No stressage here! Amie believes that no horse or pony, no matter of the size or type, is incapable of 'carrying themselves' in a soft relaxed way and responding to small aids from the rider and so making the riders job easy whether they are hacking out or competing. This can be achieved through the German scales of training method originally aimed at young horses. Amie has condensed the ideas into a programme suitable for the older horse that needs fine tuning or is maybe just still green.
At AG Dressage we thoroughly advocate that a correctly schooled horse is usually one that leads a life with substantially less injuries and stiffness. This is true for both competition horses and leisure horses alike. We understand the differences between breeds and take individual approaches to all horses that come into our yard. We have extensive experience with cobs and have developed stress free and fun techniques to achieve a reactive horse with suppleness and softness which can sometimes be difficult with the heavier breeds.
Lessons are available for all riders. We often recommend having a lesson at the end of your horse being with us so we can bring you both back together and that you understand any changes we have made and how you can maintain that change.
The horses are kept in a modern large airy american barn with fantastic facilities and off road hacking. Please see the Schooling and Livery tab for further details on the yard.
