AG dressage is ran by Amie and is responsible for the schooling and development of all clients horses. She holds a degree in Equine Sport Science and has many years experience in production of all types of horses and ponies. Amie's first horse was a 15.2 Irish cob called Irish Pride, or Connor. Connor is now 21 and is a firm member of the family. He was a naughty boy however with perseverance over the years he changed from a confused and dangerous young horse to a stunningly clever competition horse. He happily competed at Medium level dressage and schooled at home at medium advanced, which is quite an achievement for a Heinz cob! Connor never went affiliated although competed against affiliated horses many times and stilll came out ontop. He was also won showing champion titles in many Hunter classes including county shows.. He taught Amie to sit tight when jumping, as he was quite enthusiastic about his jumping. Amie took 2 of her horses to university at Brackenhust, Nottingham Trent and at one point came back from holiday break with an extra that belonged to a client for schooling. It was at university that Amie was introduced properly to eventing and in her 3rd year she worked for Mark and Tanya Kyle and commuted to uni twice a week. However at the beggining of this year she had taken over her mums horse, Moon FX (Logan) whilst her mum recovered from a broken arm. Logan underwent serious re schooling both on the flat and over fences, he then went along to the Kyles yard and was competed to BE100. Whilst at the Kyles Amie bought and produced a few connemara ponies that were eventually dream ponies for children and adults.
ROSS- Amies current top horse is 18hhRoss ( Zephyros B) by (Jazz x Amor x Olympic Cocktail) who was purchased with the intention of being sold on after some work was put into him however it soon became apparent he was a raw talent, but came with many behavioural issues mainly under saddle, typical for a hot headed Jazz offspring! His talent for dressage was obvious especially once he had learnt to move off the leg. As he got stronger we also found that he had an unwelcome talent for throwing off any rider he pleased which he succeeded at many times, including his first competition outing! After two years of carefully planned training Ross is now competing with British Dressage but his career path will not be rushed. We have high hopes for him.
TWIGGY . (Akurate) Twiggy arrived October 2012 and is a valuable asset. She is by Sandro Hit and trained to Inter II. Watch this space!
Amie is now 100% focussed on dressage as her passion and currently trains with Peter Tomlinson alongside intervals with other top UK based trainers such as Wayne Channon and Ulrik Molgaard. Her aim is to reach Grand Prix and will be looking to work alongside some much appreciated sponsorship to help her do so. Another youngster will also be sought within the next year to join the small team.
